10. Plagiarism and Similarity Screening

Submitted manuscripts may undergo similarity screening using appropriate plagiarism detection software.

Similarity reports are evaluated by the editorial team based on the nature, extent, and context of overlapping text.

A similarity score alone does not establish plagiarism. Editorial decisions consider whether the manuscript contains unattributed copying, inappropriate duplication, or other violations of academic integrity.

Authors are responsible for properly citing all sources and ensuring the originality of their manuscripts.

11. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

Authors must use artificial intelligence tools responsibly and transparently.

AI-assisted tools may be used for language improvement, editing, or other legitimate research support, provided their use complies with applicable journal policies.

Substantive use of generative AI should be disclosed appropriately in the manuscript.

12. Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to JIKEN undergo editorial screening followed by independent peer review when they meet the journal's initial requirements.

The proposed review model is double-blind peer review, in which author and reviewer identities are concealed from one another.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on scientific originality, methodological quality, relevance, ethical compliance, clarity, and contribution to health sciences.

Editorial decisions may include:

  1. Accept Submission

  2. Minor Revision

  3. Major Revision

  4. Reject Submission

The final editorial decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or designated handling editor.

13. Manuscript Revision

Authors receiving revision requests must address reviewers' and editors' comments carefully.

A revised manuscript should be accompanied by a point-by-point response explaining the changes made.

The editorial team may request additional revisions or further peer review before making a final decision.

14. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright to their published scholarly works and grant JIKEN the right of first publication.

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

This license permits users to share, reproduce, distribute, and adapt published materials, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate attribution is given and adaptations are distributed under the same or a compatible license.

The journal supports the global dissemination of scientific knowledge and equitable access to research findings.

16. Article Processing Charge (APC)

JIKEN applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 250,000 for accepted manuscripts, subject to the journal's current fee policy.

The APC supports editorial administration, manuscript production, publication infrastructure, and online dissemination.

Payment of publication fees does not guarantee manuscript acceptance and does not influence editorial or peer-review decisions.
